Rusel DeMaria
Author and Career Advisor, The Art Institute of Seattle

Rusel DeMaria has been playing games for more than 40 years, and writing about them since 1981. He is a former editor of several national game magazines and was the founding editor and creative director Prima Publishing's strategy guide division, which he started in 1990. He has written in excess of 60 books, most recently, the game history High Score: The Illustrated History of Electronic Games with Johnny Wilson, David Perry on Game Design (co-authored with David Perry), Spore: The Evolution, EverQuest: The 10th Anniversary Art Book (with Paul Lipscombe), and Reset: Changing the Way We Look at Video Games (an exploration of positive impact games written for non-gamers). He is also Assistant Director with David Perry's Game Consultants, Inc. and one of the co-chairs of the IGDA's Positive Impact Games SIG. Most recently, he became a career advisor for The Art Institute of Seattle.
